The Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI) invites qualified candidates to attend a walk-in interview for the recruitment of one Junior Research Fellow (JRF) and two Young Professional-II (YP-II) positions. The positions are offered under projects funded by various agencies, providing an opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research in plant sciences.

The interview will take place on October 4, 2024. These temporary/contractual roles are co-terminus with the respective projects, which are expected to extend beyond their current approval date of March 2025.

Applications are invited to attend interview (In-person) for the recruitment of research fellows against vacancies in projects funded by different funding agencies. The interview will be organized on 04th October, 2024 for the recruitment of Junior Research Fellow (01 Post under GCoE on Millets project), Young Professional-II (02 Post under GCoE on Millets and CABin projects), purely on temporary/contractual basis, co-terminus with the projects, as per the particulars given below. – “Exploring the molecular regulatory networks of nutrient use efficiency and grain quality in wheat under elevated carbon dioxide and heat stress for climate resilient wheat” (CABin Project)
Educational Qualifications– JRF: M.Sc. in Plant Biochemistry, Plant Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, or Plant Physiology with 4/5 years of Bachelor’s degree (NET qualification for 3-year Bachelor’s degree holders).
– YP-II: M.Sc. in Plant Biochemistry, Plant Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, Plant Physiology, Environmental Science, or Bioinformatics.
Desirable QualificationsExperience in gene cloning, characterization, biochemical techniques, handling metabolomics instruments, heterologous gene expression, Omics data characterization.
Fellowship/Salary– JRF: ₹31,000 + 24% HRA for the 1st and 2nd year, ₹35,000 + 24% HRA for the 3rd year.
– YP-II: ₹42,000 (consolidated).
ExperienceRelevant experience in basic biochemical and molecular techniques, gene cloning, and handling research instruments as mentioned above.
Age Limit35 years (age relaxation of 3 years for OBC and 5 years for SC/ST/women candidates).

Terms and Conditions

  • The above positions are purely temporary and will be filled on contractual basis. The posts are coterminus with the Project. Currently the Global CoE on millets project is approved up to 31.03.2025
    and CABin project up to 31-03-2025, but is likely to be extended further.
  • Age limit: 35 years (Age relaxation of 3 years for OBC and 5 years for SC/ST/ women candidate as
    per govt. guidelines) as on 1
    st October, 2024.
  • The posts are purely temporary and will be filled on contractual basis initially for up to 31-03- 2025
    or till completion of project whichever is earlier and may be extended periodically subject to
    performance of the candidate till the termination of the project.
  • No objection Certificate (NOC) from the current employer is required, if working.
  • Candidate should come for walk-in interview with two copies of application as per the format given
    in Annexure 1 along with a copy of biodata with dully attested certificates of 10th, 12th, Undergraduation, post-graduation, Ph.D. and NET/GATE and other certificates. Affix an attested recent
    passport size photograph in the Bio-data.
  • The selected candidate will be required to produce all the original documents and medical certificate
    at the time of joining.
  • No TA/DA/ any other expenses will be paid for attending the interview.
  • Only the candidates having essential qualification would be entertained for the interview.
  • The selected candidates shall not claim for regular appointments at this Institute as the post is coterminus with the respective projects.
  • Concealing of facts or canvassing in any form shall lead to disqualification or termination.
  • The candidate intending to attend the interview, if any of his near or distant relatives is an employee
    of the ICAR/IARI, has to declare his/her name, designation, nature of duties, relationship in writing.
    If on the date of the interview such declaration is furnished and found that his relative is an
    employee of ICAR/IARI, such candidate will not be allowed to appear in the interview.
  • In case of any discrepancy, English version may be treated as final.
  • Institute retains the right to not select any candidate / scrap any of the positions even after interview.
